Sharnitha King’s Faith Journey

I was young when I first accepted Jesus as my Savior.
Initially, I struggled with my faith because the thought of being a true Christian was scary to me
and did not seem fun. I figured that I knew who Jesus was, and later on, maybe when I’m older
I’d be ready to spend all day going to church and praying.
It wasn’t until I was truly on my own that my faith increased. I suffered from loneliness and later
depression. I had been hurt on so many levels by people I loved the most and felt I could trust
no one. But in those hours of loneliness, the Lord showed me true love and that I was never
alone.
Once I realized that I was in the presence of God, I became more confident in my walk. I could
speak the name of Jesus and pray openly and not feel ashamed because it wasn’t always
popular.
So I encourage anyone struggling with their faith to give Jesus a try. Lay all of your worries
and hurt before Him. Let Him show you that He has never left your side and never will. He can
heal all wounds and give you the desires of your heart if only you let Him.
