God’s Faithfulness to Heal – Samantha M. King

The Lord has proven himself faithful over and over as I’ve walked with Him. This story took place back in 2010. I was in a car accident. It was a bad situation, the worst accident I’d ever been in. I blacked out and woke up in the hospital. I had temporary amnesia. I couldn’t recall information for more than about a minute. Then I would reset and start asking the same questions again. My husband was there in my hospital room with me and was believing for my healing. I had a neck brace on, which I was constantly fighting because I kept forgetting I had to leave it on. They needed me to be still until the Dr could come and examine my neck and spine to determine if my movement would paralyze me or not. My husband began praying, worshiping the Lord, and thanking him for my healing. I ended up falling into a restful sleep and rested until the Dr came and checked me. I had two fractured vertebrae in my neck. Thankfully, I had no permanent nerve damage, and my amnesia lifted within 24hours. I know the Lord was with me, and my husband’s prayers were heard.
A few days later I was having some intense pain in my neck and shoulders. Miraculously I did not need a neck brace, however I should have been taking it easy. I went back to work the next day and was feeling the effects of what my muscles had been through that week. I just so happened to randomly connect with a pastor friend who lived in another state. After a brief conversation of me sharing with him the events of the week, he asked if he could call me. Of course! I welcomed the prayer, I knew he was a man of faith. On the phone he said, I’m going to pray for healing in your neck and shoulders. As soon as I’m done praying, I want you to move your neck and everything is going to pop back into place. I laid my hands on my neck, my husband and I agreed in prayer with him. It was a short prayer. The moment he finished, I turned my head and all I could hear was snap crackle popping, all of my pain was completely gone!!! The Lord had healed all of the stress and tension in my neck and shoulders!
This was a situation where I was in a random accident. I had temporary amnesia. I fractured two vertebrae. I received healing in the hospital, then more healing two days later at home. I was able to go back to work, and remain working. My only restriction was that I wasn’t able to wear my heaviest winter coat for a few months. My body continued to heal, and be made whole. Jesus is faithful! It is wild to me to think about the reality that an entire day of my life is just gone from my memory. I don’t remember the accident, I don’t remember the ambulance, I don’t remember most of my hospital visit. I honestly had forgotten that my vertebrae were fractured until years later when I found my discharge papers in a pile of stuff. I know the Lord was with me.
I am so thankful for the people who fought with me and agreed in faith during a crazy situation to see healing manifested by faith in my life. I was truly not in my right mind, and the Lord perfectly orchestrated things so that I was supported in faith during that time. The Lord has continued to be faithful to me concerning healing. There have been times that I was alone, no one to help, or pray with me. Sometimes I had to lay on the floor and worship or pray until the pain left. Times when I had to pace the floor speaking truth and declaring scripture over a sick child until the situation shifted. Seasons of listening to old school word of faith preachers until my mind and spirit aligned with the truth that the word declares over me as a believer. I’ve sought the Lord and had to contend for years, and I’ve seen Him move quickly. What I know is that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Listen to the Lord to hear what he has to say. We can do this through reading the word, and by hearing directly from Him. When we receive the word of the Lord we can move confidently to declare into our situation until it moves. The Lord is so faithful. There is SO much power in submitting ourselves to the Lord and declaring his word, his faithfulness, and His goodness over our lives. The bible describes the Holy Spirit as a helper. No matter the situation, lean into Him. His ways are higher than our ways, but they are not inaccessible. The Helper / Teacher has come to lead us into truth about who we are and the authority the Lord has given us. He is good.
